展厅应被谨慎地空出来，让人能环绕相遇。接下去，就是考虑到底要在纸团里给大家看什么。开幕几天前，突然想起一些最近感受比较深的日常碎片，记录下来，它们可能正是生活里非凡的东西：

 

The exhibition hall should be left empty so that people can meet around it. The next step was to consider exactly what to show people in the crumpled paper balls. A few days before the opening, it suddenly came to my mind to record some of the more recently felt fragments of the everyday, which might just be the extraordinary things in life:

 

几株腊梅与钟楼一墙之隔。

住所外有座黄色的钟楼。

上千个纸团，带有信息。

通过手，辨认或者留下痕迹。

一到寒冬便能看到俗套的红色。

墙内，这些梅花看上去极其艳丽。

 

符号——形状——文字——梅——钟楼。

人们稀罕那些难得一见的事物，因其转瞬即逝。

以上，与此处皆无关联。

登上钟楼，楼里四通八达。

楼顶是欧式的，带着塔尖与圆拱门。

醒来，发现自己睡在马路边。

白梅的花期只有两周左右。

它们将被看到。

观者才是展览现场的制造者。

在各式各样木质地板的房间里，碰见不少熟人。

过去的五个月，时间跳跃着静止了。

它们并未被直接呈现

简单来说：打开一些纸团，留下一些纸团。

通过手，打开旧纸团，或制造新纸团。

自从搬来此地，还没见过有人走上钟楼。

从梅林的视角往上看去，这座钟楼在夜间最为特别。

五月（May）天热的时候，其中一株白色腊梅却含苞待放。

那时，月亮正好位于拱门的空隙当中。

 

A wall divides the clock tower from a few plum trees.

There is a yellow clock tower outside the house.

Thousands of crumpled paper balls with messages

By hand, identify or leave a trace.

The tacky red color can be seen once the cold winter arrives.

Inside the walls, these plum blossoms look extremely flamboyant.

Symbols - shapes - words - plums - clock towers

The rare things that are rarely seen because they are transient.

None of the above is relevant here.

When you go up to the clock tower, the building is accessible in all directions.

The roof is European, with spires and round arches.

Wake up and find yourself sleeping by the roadside.

 

The white plums are only in bloom for about two weeks.

They will be seen.

It is the viewer who is the maker of the exhibition site.

In the rooms with their various wooden floors, one meets several familiar faces.

For the past five months, time has jumped and stood still.

They are not presented directly.

In short, unfold some crumpled paper balls or leave some crumpled paper balls here.

Through the hands, old paper balls are unfolded, or new ones are crumpled.

Since moving here, I haven't seen anyone walk up to the clock tower.

From the viewpoint of the plum trees, the clock tower is most unique at night.

When it becomes warmer in May, one of the white plum trees will be in full bloom.

At that time, the moon will be in the gap of the arch.

“梅”对应“May”的发音，我将各种形态的梅花形状——它们有一部分来自《芥子园画谱》，以及一栋欧式钟楼反复画在普通A4纸上，之后全部揉成纸团。两百个左右的纸团中，还参杂有一些名称不全的中英文店面名字，以及来自其他人即兴涂写。

 

至此，项目欢迎观众在白伞、抽奖盒、仿真草地上打开纸团观看里边的内容，并自制纸团留在现场。

 

断裂是我最近关心的问题。例如在白纸上用断续的线条，勾勒出那些更需要联想才能辨认的意象。这次我尝试让每一处都是断裂的。断裂带来空隙，人就可以出入。

 

The word "plum" corresponds to the pronunciation of "May", and I repeatedly drew the various shapes of plum blossoms—some of them from the Mustard Seed Garden Painting Collection—and a European-style clock tower on plain A4 papers. Afterward, they were all crumpled into about two hundred paper balls, mixed with some paper balls are written names of street shops in both English and Chinese, featuring incomplete names and improvised scribbles from others.

 

The audience is welcome to open the crumpled paper balls under the white umbrellas, in the raffle boxes, and on the mock grass to see what's inside and to crumple their own paper balls to throw on site.

 

I have been concerned about cracks recently. For example, using disconnected strokes on white paper to outline imagery that requires more association to recognize. This time, I tried to disconnect every single point, leaving the gaps so that people can access and exit.
